Dr iur Thilo Pachmann tells the story of the case under „News“.

In a landmark decision on 22 October 2024, the Federal Supreme Court redefined its case law on disability insurance in the case of obesity. Previously, obesity was considered treatable in principle, which meant that many pension applications were rejected. What does this change mean for insured persons and what happens next? Under „Legal“, Attorney-at-Law Paula Dauner sheds light on the implications and explains what those affected now need to bear in mind.

Anyone who thinks that protracted trials only occur in bureaucratic jokes should take a look at the Pierin Vincenz case. A criminal case that has lasted longer than many athletes lives and has reached Olympic dimensions. This case has been dragging on through the Swiss courts since 2005, and the end still seems a long way off. Attorney-at-Law Thomas Wehrli takes us on a journey through the epic judicial marathon race that shows us how long and tough trials can be – and why it sometimes pays to be patient. Read more under „Curiosities“.
